Retractable external mirrors

Featured Replies

Would be nice to have them. My wife has a Jazz and you press a button and they fold in at whatever speed. My Dad's Merc folds them in when you park up and I wouldn't mind that feature as I always have to fold at least one in at work due to parking on a side road with cars either side.

I used to have a Civic Type R and the jap version had more poke, LSD, folding mirrors, better seats etc. I don't get why the UK has to be different, we want all the same things don't we??

The only fly in this ointment is that Å koda foldable mirrors (on the Superb anyway) can ONLY be folded at speeds below 15mph!!! Doh. Useless when you are going fast down a narrowing country lane and see another car or hedge coming up and want them folded in pronto...

We can't get this on the Yeti either - though you can on a VW Tiguan and they use the EXACT same mirror housing! SUK brochure and dealer said we will get and I paid £500 for that and an electric driver's seat. Only the seat arrived and SUK had to pay quite a few of us £250 back! So some result but not exactly what I had wanted.

Normally i would agree that the VW would try and stop the Skoda having the folding mirrors due to it being such excellent value for money, but my missus has a Leon FR TDI and the spec on that compared to the GT TDI Golf (not the mk6 one though) which is a few grand more to start with is unreal and that has the folding mirrors as standard.

Im gutted that my vRS doesnt have them though as so useful to have when parked up on main roads etc. and think its shocking that it isnt an optional extra as so many VAG models use the same mirrors!
