Which Brake Disks and Pads for my VRS?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Im looking to buy Disks and Pads for my Fabia VRS both front and back. Ive looked on ECP and spoke to a few parts suppliers round my way but this simple thing seems to be more difficult than i thought it would be. My Fabia is a 54 plate if that helps, can anyone please point me in the right direction for parts etc.

Also is it a case of you pay for what you get? As in should i just get the cheapest option or stick to Mintex.

By the way the quote ive had from a local supplier (if they have got the right bits quoted) is £118.00 for everything.

Thanks in advance everyone

Most people on here rate Mintex for the standard 288mm setup. They're available on ebay for about £75

When I upgraded to 312mm I just went for the standard OEM Audi discs + pads as they are more than enough for what I use the car for.

Nice to see another vRS from Lincoln too

I need some new brakes and pads to. Def has proven difficult to find a decent set.

Infact, here is that Mintex set

As member have stated 'Mintex' front discs and pads around £75 all-in E-Bay, just bought and fitted unbranded rear discs and pads £28.90 all-in E-Bay.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

As rear discs/ pads are mostly ornamental/ parking brake, it would be just a waste of time and money doing any sort of upgrade.

Front discs 288mm vented, with rear discs 232mm solid.

I've got mintex discs on the front with ferrero brake pad's and It is such a great set up, cannot fault it with no fade!

The pad's are £££ but worth it!

DS2500's?

A bit crappy when cold, but once a bit of warmth is in them, you can trust them with your life. Brilliant pads. Well worth the csot.
