My Yeti 1.8 Elegance was delivered to my door this morning. Steel grey, electric seat, tpm, mats and spare wheel.

My first impressions, coming from an 59 plate Octavia vrs I've been used to sport suspension, bolstered seats etc. Driving the Yeti the suspension is softer but not in a bad way, you feel it soak up the bumps in a nice controlled manner. There's a bit roll but not anything uncomfortable. The only slight downside is the lack of bolstering in the seat sides, but its not a sports car so to be expected. Just something I noticed coming from the vrs.

Road noise is better controlled, not as quiet as the SE I tried but that was on 16" wheels, it's a nice change from the roar the Octavia gave.

The 1.8 engine feels nice and smooth and not intrusive. Can't assess performance it being a new tight engine but it felt like it had some go waiting to get out.

On the whole all positives, only slight downsides are the rear visibility when reversing but it's something you soon get used to and allow for. And the brakes feel like they could do with being larger, this might be where I've come from the Vrs and something I'll soon adjust to.

Feeling rather chuffed. And for the first time in a long time I feel like going out for a drive just for the car, not just to go somewhere.

You are not the first to whom this has happened! hehehe Welcome to the forum and enjoy the car...

Not sure how a box on wheels with tons of glass can have limited visibility when you reverse though? And it being box the back is exactly where you see the box stop! Easy peasy! :giggle:

Looking out the rear window it's fine! :) Its more the rear quarters I'm talking about, just something you get used to though.

Trust the beeps and the screen for reversing. It is surprisingly useful.

Interesting that you mention a soft ride as sometimes people complain about the opposite. It really does show it depends on what you are used to regarding seats, severity of brakes, acceleration etc.

Enjoy.

OH yes. I came from a hard as nails Audi and my Yeti feels like a Rolls Royce in how softly sprung and smooth it is! Yet I know it does not really roll in corners as the pictures of me in it going around the track at Castle Combe proved! It hardly felt as if it rolled AT ALL!
