Does white do the car justice?

Featured Replies

Been browsing lots of pics again and I'm wondering if anyone else agrees that the white masks the lines of the car. In particular, the shape that flows up from between the headlights and the grill across the bonnet and then down the side and round the back. On all the white pics it just seems to blend in, doesn't have as much shadow to define some aggressive angles rather than being very flat and boxy. I'm also noticing the height more with the white.

I don't think my order has gone confirmed build date yet so it's probably not too late to switch but if I do it'll be adding (green) metallic paint, black roof and black wheels so more or less another grand to the price. :(

I've liked the white in the flesh but keep worrying myself that it's due to it being the fasionable colour right now.

I quite like the white, but whatever you end up doing you've said that you liked it in the flesh but you're not so sure about it in the pics. I imagine you'll be doing more with the car than just looking at pictures of it? If you liked it in the flesh that's probably a good sign!

Cheers, problem is I liked the green in the flesh too.

I agree to a certain degree such that I have considered adding a 3mm black coachline along the body. A bit retro and am undecided as yet.

I picked mine up in green with black roof and wheels yesterday and it was the first time I'd seen the colour in the 'flesh' so to speak.

Looks stunning and IMO miles better than the White one they had. There was also a yellow one in the showroom with black wheels and roof which looked surprisingly good but I think might be a bit more difficult to get rid of in a few years time.

Think it's personal preference really. I'm not decided on the look of the black pack with a white car (especially with black roof), but I'm yet to see one in the flesh and perhaps if I wasn't closing in on 40 it would make a difference. :giggle:

I think white looks better in the flesh and pics don't really do it justice. I've gone for white since imo green in the estate doesn't look right. Black hides the lines a lot. Plus it's a free colour.

You're right about personal preference, my mum described the green as younger when I asked for her opinion.

Appreciate this is the Monte Carlo but gives you an idea of black pack on white.

On an vRS estate white was my first choice, especially as it contrasts so well with my alloy choice (black). Red would probably have been my second. I saw a yellow vRS estate last week headed towards Liverpool on the M58 and was a little disappointed, it had silver alloys though which I wouldn't have specced.

Yup that's the picture i've seen. The monte has the black details on the sills and wheel arches aswell though which I believe aren't coming to the vRS. I think that car looks so damn good in red it's hard to beat.

ive seen in the flesh the all red+silver alloys, all green+2 colour alloys and all white+black alloys (same as mine will be) and i much prefer the white setup but its each to their own.

no picture really does any colour scheme justice, you have to see/touch one to get the best feel for it. i chose mine from seeing the first 2 colours and then just taking a chance with the brochure pics and some off the web as i wanted to be a bit different to the green boys :giggle:

me personally i dont like a different coloured roof but loads here do and thats what makes this car so special, choice

i wonder how many actual colour combination's this car has, i bet its more than a ford would offer you

I avoided white like the plague. I think almost 50% of people on this forum alone are ordering white. Every car I see these days is white and it's just getting far too boring. I had to go for something LOUD! and that pretty much turned me to red/yellow/green. Loved the blue on the Octy VRS but I don't think it suits the Fabia (Although seeing some guys pics on here I think i'm changing my mind on that one! ) I went for the Green basically. It's limited to the VRS only and think it just belongs on the car. It's also a bit of a head turner because of the colour, which to be fair, puts a lot of people off. Personally i'm a bit of a poser! hahaha! It was the colour displayed on the brochure and in the adverts and I think it looks great. Stands out! :)

Hi,

Another white here with black wheels. It's so different 'in the flesh' and with the door mirrors plus pillars in black it seems just enough black to me.

The pics I saw when counting down the days, well its just not the same as seeing it in the flesh.

I do need to get some pics up of mine - just relaxing after a day of detailing :)

Another white here with black wheels.

Yes please.

My dealer's not gonna be happy.

1st change - deleted black roof and added black wheels

2nd change - deleted black wheels

3rd change...?

the black wheels are really smart on the white car, ive seen it in the flesh

White looks pimp imo - not sure how I will feel once the black pack is added though. Mine is coming with out it as far as I know. Gone for Dark Chromes on my white estate and I think its a good look - better than Black and Silver wheels and definately White wheels! :)

I'm very skeptical about white cars, however after seeing janner_Sy's car while it was at Shark Performance, I think it looks great

Yes please.

Pls see review thread!

Thank you

White looks great in the flesh especially with the black roof which really helps to disguise the height.

Dunno what it is about the furby vRS mkII but it has to be the least photogenic car I've ever owned -looks awesome in the flesh but often poor in photos... :wonder:

I quite agree with the photogenic part there, FurbyTom. I wasn't too hyped about the car when it first launched and it just so happened that I was in with the folks and saw a VRS in the flesh. Decided there and then that I wanted one!
