felicia 1.3 mpi

Featured Replies

Hi can any body help me

I have a 2000 felicia 1.3 mpi and was replacing the timing chain and sprokets i removed the old ones without marking the crank and cam shafts and i moved the cam and crank with the chain removed i know it was stupid to do this but its done now, i then replaced the new chain guessing where they were originally but i got it wrong i tried to start the engine but it would not start i dont think i did any damage as i turned the crank by hand and there were no bad noises and it turned freely but i now need to reset the timing where do i start

Help please.

There are dots on the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket, which you need to align with a certain number of chain links between them. I don't have a manual handy, but will see if I can dig one out later...

did you turn it over by hand first before turning the key ?

morrispaul, it says in his original post that he turned it over by hand first

from handbook, Timing chain is aligned with 12 chain links between dot markings.
