FL Scout power drop when setting off !

Featured Replies

:S My Scout 2 ltr TDi PD (BMM)has a power drop when setting off in first gear so much so that you can stall the car,and it sometimes feels as though its 'missing' on a light throttle, cars been like this from new and I end up riding the clutch to get over it, any other Scout owners have the same problem as Skoda says its 'EGR BUMP' and its not a fault.I have asked them to find another Scout for me to try but they are all sold :'( anybody else had these problems ?

All the Scout reviews here in Australia referred to the ease of stalling on take-off, and I've done it more with the Scout in the last 18 motnhs than any other car I've had in the last decade. I either give it some welly (scaring much bigger vehicles if I time the 1st shift well) or slip the clutch a little on lighter throttle.

Not encountered this on the facelift TDI Scout - and I don't remember it on the pre-facelift I had as a courtesy car. I have noticed a lurch sometimes on pulling out of T junctions which I have put down to the Haldex disengaging when turning tight corners.
