Have the rear model inscriptions been changed on the latest models?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knew if skoda have now deleted the 'TDI' and/or 'TSI' badging on the passenger side of the tailgate on the latest cars? I've seen two brand spankers now and they have both only had the yeti inscription on the drivers side of the tailgate. :-(

1.2TSI's have never been supplied over here with any badging denoting engine type. 1.4 gets just a plain silver TSI like the 2wd TDI.

My April build has the standard TDI 4x4 B)

The 1.2TSI is the model with just Yeti on the tailgate.Seems to be alot of 1.2'about at the moment.

Got mine last week, it has the TSI 4x4 badge on the passenger side, with the I in red if I remember rightly. Built week 15.

I think the 1.2 is the most popular engine.

Most people with think my CR140 (approx) DSG is a 1.2tsi DSGemoticon-0140-rofl.gif as I removed the badge after catching it whilst washing it. Ok, I have the twin exhaust, but so did early 1.2's.

Didn't realise that guys, my supplying dealer told me that the 1.2's had the same TSi badging as my 1.8 so that's what I always believed. Usual unknowing dealer then! So they are 1.2's then. Thanks. :-)

I wish our 1.2 had engine size badging on the back, as no one believes me when I tell them that it's a petrol and the cubic capacity - especially after they've been driven in it!

Some people also ask for rear badging to be removed. They prefer a smooth/bare finish.

Normally it is BMW 316 owners that don't want people to know this fact and prefer them to think that because they could just about afford the bigger wheels everyone will think they have a 335! :giggle: Rockhopper is the execption in having a 335d and wanting people to think it is a 316! hehehe

Johann, You are right there. On a practical note a colleague at work used to have an Octavia VRS. He asked for the badges to be taken off that so that he did not get any hassle from boy racers trying to take him on. Those in the know would recognise the VRS blue but otherwise it worked for him.
