Rear view mirror auto anti dazzle?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have an octavia vrs tdi and have slowly been getting used to all the features buil in to it.

The rear view mirror looks to be an auto tilt model, how do I test that it works?

Thanks

My Auto-mirror has a little switch on the bottom and a green light indicating it's activated.

Not sure if this is the same on the older Octy's?

Be sure it is activated - push button in centre under mirror - LED will light at bottom front of housing

To test in daylight - behind the mirror at the left hand side is a detector. Cover this with your finger - in good strong daylight the mirror should darken. Careful not to cover the detector at the front while you do it - mirror works by measuring the difference in light between the 2.

At night to test just shine a small torch on the front detector - the mirror will darken.
