Front Skoda Badge...

Featured Replies

Hi all

the front skoda badge on my car is knackered, it looks like water has got behind it or something..anyway the rear badge which is mint appears to be the same size etc, as I want to remove the rear badge anyway do you reckon it will fit the front grill? And is it just stuck on or will it leave holes in the boot?

thanks

Fram

Looking at the parts list, the front and rear badges are the same. If you use dental floss or thin thread to remove the rear badge, you will damage the adhesive tape in the process. Why not buy a new badge for the front? I can't imagine it will cost much.

I removed one of the badges on the rear of my car using the dental floss method. Once the badge was off, I used isopropanol to clean off the glue residue, but tar remover or similar would have been suitable. The bodywork was completely undamaged.

I had a badge do the same thing on my Fabia. There's a seperate clear cover over a black plastic part and some foil to give the silver bits. Water can get in behind the clear bit.

I had it replaced in about 2 minutes under warrenty at the dealer. If they cost any more than a tenner I'd be surprised.

hi all

I did remove the rear badge and it would have looked quite good if it didnt leave two holes in the boot!! got some new sticky stuff and stuck it back on, looks like a new badge for the front then...oh and thanks for the dental floss tip..I used hot water (to melt the glue) and a plastic spatchelor, then cleaned up with some thinners.

I was fairly certain you dont have to remove the black plastic thingy, because the badge actually fits over it with strong stick pads!

Oh well. :p
