Thanks for that John, been up Durham way today and tried my converter for the first time. I just wanted to look at the Focal length. When I was there yesterday 2 Red Kites were flying around close to the new Barn Building, very low and visible, reason for taking Camera. No show today :(

Does the converter process the exif data then?

I wanted to look at the Focal length added to the Opanda IExif program see below

Exif Image Height = 1428

File Source = DSC

Don't forget to take into account the crop factor of your sensor. which is near enough 1.5x

(420/3)x2=280 so I'm guessing that you were using a zoom lens (70-300?) at 280mm.

Another program that will give you the EXIF info but is way more useful than Opanda is Irfanview. If you use Firefox you can also download an EXIF plug in that allows you to right click on any image on the web and select "View link EXIF data". You will see any EXIF data that is still associated with the image.

I see that you are using CS5 as well. I assume that you do know that you can view the EXIF from within CS5.

Well spotted K1W1 - I've just done that now.

Thanks I've been using it for several years and it comes in very handy at times.

KIWI, no I did not know but thank you for pointing it out, I did a search and found this, Open picture then go File > File info and hey presto its there. Thanks again.

if your using Windows Vista/7 then just right click on the image, select properties and go to details. Win 7 and Vista can view / edit the exif data out of the box. Or if on Mac iPhoto can display the info more easily.

That can only happen with downloaded photos though.
