HID Coding help URGENT

Featured Replies

Hi

I had planned to get HIDs for my 2011 Skoda Octavia mkII FL....as advised by members on this board I bought a HID kit without the CANBUS canceller and wet for the coding with VAS at the dealership....a member had posted the coding process for me which I took along and was as follows:

Open controller 09 Central Electronics.

Byte 0 bit 1 Xenon headlights with shutter installed -- unchecked.

Byte 2 bit 2 Cold lamp diagnostics active - checked

Byte 18 or 19 Find the Cold lamp diagnostics for low beam headlights, uncheck, leave all others checked

Byte 3 bit 4 Xenon headlights without shutter installed (Bi-xenon) - checked

But when the dealer connected it to VAS there was no such option, I am adding a picture of the VAS Screen...please help Im stuck with a kit with Xenons installed the BOW light on and occasional flickering......

Can someone please help...the dealer couldnt find xenons in central electronics

Hi,

The latest Octy's appear to have an updated controller without these options.

IIRC one other member here had attempted to do the same as yourself but ended up having to fit the cancellers as well as it wasn't possible to code them correctly.

Just to echo the above, there has been one incident (that I am aware of) were the controller 9 option wasn't listed but iirc that was on a pre FL. You can pick up the cancellors to make the HIDs CANbus friendly quite cheaply though.

I have those fitted to my FL MY11 model

The instructions given here do NOT match what the dealer has to do.

My dealer had a totally different system tot he VCD. They are apparently not allowed to use VCD.
