Insurance Renewal

Featured Replies

Just got my renewal from Privilege through.

It's gone up £5 a month :) which I don't think is too bad.

vRS SE, market value, protected NCD, guaranteed hire car, with the Mrs on there too.

Did a quick Compare The Market special and none were cheaper. Which is nice!

That extra £5 is probably Jus the mrs's ;)

How much u paying monthly if u don't me asking? I pay around 1400 yearly :( and am wondering if men's insurance may have gone down :S :

I saved £450 this year. 21 with 2 year no claims and a claim against me.

Insurance is a strange thing, mg mates has doubled for no apparent reason

£38 a month :)

£38 a month :)

Wow.

I thought mine was cheap, but that is good. B)

£5 extra a month is nothing these days. On both my cars they wanted almost double last years premium, shopped around as you do and both cars insured for 20% more than last year. Forgot about a quote from Priviledge myself could have been cheaper an an oldie like me.

Might have to try them for a quote myself as mines due in July. Mines currently 55/month and I'm 29 with 6yrs protected ncb, but that's with my girlfriend on as a named driver who's 25... It's deffo looking like it'll go up though this year :(

Agree with second bet. It's a strange one, my friends has just doubled on a less powerful car!!

Mine went down £200, which I can't gruble with.

£700, FC, 22, 3 points and a ban.

Some insurance cos. are not on the comparison sites ,so get a quote from them as well. Avviva, Churchill, Direct line, Priviledge are a few.

I have just insured my daughters car as she came back from studying in the US, as part of the process I asked them about multi car discounts, I was thinking that she could go with Bell like me and save. Turns out that you can set up an Admiral multicar policy for the car that needs insuring and they will just set up the other car ready for when the renewal time arrives. mine is going from £73 a month down to £50 a month when renewal comes around in December. As an added bonus her insurance is also a full £200 cheaper than the nearest single car quote.

I know, good isn't it?

:)

Mines £53 a month with swift cover. FC, hire car the lot and I'm only 21. Got 5 years no claims though (before anyone says that doesn't work out, my insurance company kindly agreed to let me carry over a years no claims from my moped if I renewed my car with them). Anything to get a customer aye so no grumbles!

Nice

I tried swiftcover, was £41 a month for similar cover to that which Priv give me.

Insurance is a weird thing...

I began searching for quotes as mine will soon be due, and weirdly Admiral want £200 less if I keep my car on the street as opposed to in the locked garage? This being just around the corner from the Birmingham City ground, I'm now quite worried about what is going to happen to my garage next year...

I pay £55 a month, 1yncb 23 3 points. All mods declared with sky

I pay £40 a week :o

Seems there are a lot of people paying monthly on here. I always pay up front.

I tend to use brokers as they are normally cheapest for me...

After a lot of ringing round, I went with Adrian Flux... 23 years old, 5 years NCB, good postcode, no convictions/accidents. The car is a 2006 Fabia vRS with a remap, and for unlimited mileage with my remap declared, it was £600 dead on (for the year). Not bad I thought, although looking at some of the other prices named here maybe not?

Insurance is all voodoo to me.

I'm 28, 5 years NCD, accident in 2007...

Octavia vRS MK2 FL = £550 to insure (Group 28)

Seat Ibiza MK4 FR TDI PD (basically a Skoda Fabia vRS 1.9TDI) = £450 to insure (Group 16)

My current car...

Skoda Fabia vRS Estate 1.4TSI DSG = £330 to insure .. Group 27 (I think, but the point is, it's only one group different from the Octy 2)

Nuts.

Don't forget your location can influence your premium too.

I pay monthly, it suits me. I think Privilege only charged me £30 for the option of instalments so not a horrendous amount.

I find they charge silly APR's - so me and my wife get them paid up annually.

One less thing to worry about monthly too.

How do all the younger people get it soo cheap!

I'm 20 got 3 year no claims clean licence and swift cover want 1400.

Any tips please share!

Insurance companies are arses. I did the right thing and told them I had moved house (to a quieter side of Exeter on the outskirts) and was told it would be £8 a year more expensive. Although its a very low crime rate area there was a higher claim rate (basically old folk who would claim for a scratched bumper) I was expecting it to go down. They (Adrian Flux and the actual insurance company) then charged me £25 each for a mid policy change so it cost me £58. Absolute w@**kers. I shouldn't be so honest.

£20.34p over nine months from LV
