Brembo Clerance

Featured Replies

What the minimum clearer you would/need to have between the calipers and the wheel spokes?? Had mine fitted today and its bloody close! Do you need to leave a gap for heat expansion etc??

thanks

Nope, if you can fit a fag paper in cold, you can do it hot, a bridge expands like an inch in the heights of summer from the lows of winter. calipers... wouldnt worry.

What wheels and spacers are you running?

  • Author

Leon fr+ wheels, (17" version of LCR Wheels) and I think it was either a 3mm or 5mm spacer I had to fit

pics please B) - sounds good Mr st3f4n, glad you didn't have to sell in the end...

Its a scuff from a spoke :/ Getting some 7mm spacer asap... You can see how close they are

The LCR wheels were designed to fit those calipers under ;)

Those although they are Brembos they aren't the LCR ones, they fit with no spacers and the 17" wheels.

LCR ones are flat on the edge, quite different to these cheeps being flogged on eBay as LCR ones.

Huge +1...

The others look rubbish, I hate it when people consider them the same thing!

I didnt think that brembo`s even went under 17" wheels on the seats anyway

Matt

Yeah, the Leon R didn't originally have 18" wheels but had the Brembos.

Had the GT Brembo kit on my Fabia and the 17" LCR alloys (before the FR+ was released)

@ st3f4n, Are them brakes one of them kits off ebay ?

Don't you have the other brembos?

I parked next to my mates LCR and they look identical and the the DS-2500's I ordered were for a LCR too. I've seen the eBay Brembo's with the 2 lines down the side of them and they look really weird IMO.

Caliper looks a little different to the LCR one, can't see the Allen key bolts holding the two halves of the caliper together, mono block calipers?

No, there the same as mine. I agree they look identical to LCR ones but ours are bolted from the rear for some reason.
