FL Octy VRS Coding

Featured Replies

A Mate of mine has VCDS and a cable.

Could somebody tell me how to change the CH/LH lights to light up the fogs instead of the Xenon's?

I have also fitted a Columbus. Everything works except for the nav bit in the maxidot. Could you tell me how this is coded and also if anything else could do with coding on it? Swapped from Bolero to Columbus.

Thanks in advance.

Edit - Also an option to have MPH displayed in the maxidot would be good too ;)

If this is a 2010 MY you should have a BCM / 09 module installed and the Long Coding Helper will contain the coding information when connected to the vehicle. Post the complete Auto-Scan prior to modifications if you can't find the settings and this is a genuine VCDS system.

Thanks for the link.

Having not seen it in action, does the long coding helper tell you the options for each module such as the CH/LH lights on main, dipped, fogs etc?

Not sure on the CH/LH lights but to get the digital MPH speedo you need to...

Change the Instrument Cluster country to Australia.

Use the Maxidot to change the units back to mpg.

Deselect alternative speed display.

Go into the MFD selections and tick the one for current speed.

I have got the CH/LH lights working with the fogs now and also the Nav setup with the maxidot...

I didn't change the unit to Australia as i forgot about that bit. Does changing to Australia affect anything else?

It adds the large MPH digital display as well as the outside temp display is shown most of the time.

Do you loose anything? No, you only gain!!

My outside temp is always shown anyway...?

Will order a cable and this change will be first on the list....Just need to think of what else i can do such as headlight washer delay (but i believe this hasn't been found yet on the FL?)

The outside temperature is normally only selectable in the MFD, when you loose the small KPH display this gets 'replaced' with the outside temp display which is normally not shown when on certain displays (can't remember which ones as this was changed the 2nd day of owning the car).

Not sure about the headlight washers as I have not looked for them.
