Hi guys,

Found this on ebay and it made me wonder..... http://cgi.ebay.de/SKODA-Fabia-TDI-Tacho-Kombiinstrument-5J0920841C-Speedo-/250813083664?pt=Autoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item3a659ff010

I have the "normal" instruments without maxidot. Can I make it work in my car? I do not have coolingwater temp, will it work on my car? What about the features as open doors? Will the fuelgauge work?

All in all, will it work properly in my car? Also can the milage be entered?

Bgds Dan

It will work fine. The ecu holds all the info regarding milage etc so it has nothing to do with the dash.

One small detail though. Why are you looking at a tdi instrument panel?

Yes I saw it was from a TDI but my question was more maxidot in generel. Is it plug and play with the instrument?

Bgds Dan

Don't think so. It will most definately need VCDS

Isn't the immobilizer paired to the cluster as well? meaning you will need the SKC for the cluster and your car and then VCDS to code them to the car.

True!

Thanks for your replies.

Car electronics isn´t my strongest side and don´t know what SKC and VCDS means

But it seems to be a complicated and difficult matter..... :(

Bgds Dan

Not complicated but you definitely need the help of a professional :(
