Balancing wheels...

Featured Replies

does anyone know if theres such thing as high speed wheel balancing?

ive just had a new set put on and balanced... which is fine.. up to about 120+ (on trackdays of course ;) ) but then it starts to go a bit iffy...

is there some special way to balance tyres to be used for high speeds, or on high performance cars?

Think it's called finger-plate balancing or something like that, but that's all I know ;)

Google also turned up this site which suggests they also balance it with and without the tyre on for even more accuracy!

Colin best balance we do is the Pirelli reccomended finger plate balance, the wheel is coned from behind:rolleyes: and then the finger plate is put on which replicates the wheel bolts......good enough on mine to 1**mph and probably several others cars on here ..........Q, Vrsi, Dave U etc;)
