Bluetooth connection to Octavia Scout

Featured Replies

Hello all - first post so please go easy on me.

I picked up my new Octavia Scout today and have been having difficulties pairing my phone with the Bluetooth kit. I have searched old topics on here and found people with similar but not identical issues.

I can get my Blackberry 8330 to connect and can make calls by using either the mult-functional steering wheel or the touch-screen on the stereo. All the time it is connected however I get an error message on my Blackberry telling me that SAP mode is operational and I should disconnect to use Blackberry messaging. If I click OK I lose the connection to the car, if I don't click OK then the Blackberry keypad is unusable for as long as I am connected. Do I have to put up with this or is there a way round it?

Hoep you can help

Cheers

When you connect with rSAP, the car takes over your phone and messaging should be available on stereo screen and maxidot (little computer in the middle of instrument cluster), so basically you do not touch the phone anymore once connected as everything is available from Stereo and phone gets into an Airplane mode.

But, if you are having trouble try to connect to the car with normal Bluetooth HandFreeProfile and not rSAP, assuming your car has the new GSM III+ module.

As CEPi states, use the handsfree profile instead, however, why would you want to use the keypad when driving... it's illegal to use that way...
