500 miles...

right, update!

I didn't make the 500 miles on one tank, had to do a "spash and dash" lol...

I did however manage 44mpg over the whole journey, I wasn't going slowley all the time, I was occasionally having fun, i.e out of the M6 toll gates :giggle: , but I'm happy enought with that figure

Thats pretty respectable for a car with almost 200bhp!

i get 650miles in my 02golf tdi thats with 5 ppl and roof box, 55 litre tank

Diesel - 100bhp & Petrol - 180bhp... do the math, its going to be better lol

Plus the Golf hasd a 55litre tank (?) the Fabia has a measly 45 litre one.

That's some very good figures as I managed 48mpg from mine over the last week

Wen i drove upto Nottingham from kent for my remap (with only 800miles on the clock) @ cruise controlled speed of 75mph i managed 47mpg

This does my head in! Glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by this! Especially annoying when you're trying to maintain a constant speed and some d1ck starts slowing down to 30mph in front of you!

Same thing with people who slow down to 10mph under the speed limit for speed cameras (then normally blast off again). Really winds me up when I'm trying to maintain a constant speed, and it buggers up my fuel economy as well as theirs!

Where I live the motorways are all up hill, down hill etc.. (Damn you wales!)

I hate when you get caught behind one plonker doing 40mph, you have to try pull out to overtake in a small engined car.. no one lets you out, you get one tiny gap, and you have to floor the f00ker to get past.. that proper RUINS mpg!

And when you have speeded up to join the traffic and the driver on the motorway etc cannot move over in to the clear outer lane to let you in - no no this is my lane.

yeah, cruise control can do that for you, like i said, I was occasionally burning it, as I get annoyed on motorways :S

Yes, those people clearly lack the awareness required to be safe drivers so should face a re-test! Hah! It's getting like an episode of grumpy old men!

indeed, I find the same, that if you pass an indicated 80 it does 33-35 mpg, and that doesn't change if you are (on the track) doing 120 mph...

edit: by the way I'm watching your posts, do keep us updated if there are any issues/problems ect as your miles go on with the map

still havent broke 2k yet, although 12oo miles of that is mapped. Going from Kent to cardiff for the take that concert on wednesday so theres another 500miles. i reckon thats a done deal for a full tank

I've just started my own economy run...

270 mile round trip to do, set off indicating 390 miles till empty, have completed 135 and am indicating 310 till empty :)...

I know its not an exact science but I'm quite impressed with that
