Poorboys Products...i'm impressed

Featured Replies

Just wanted to say that i'm really impressed with the Poorboys product range.

After a good weekend detail using P1 polish, Poorboys Black Hole and Collonite wax with Bluvrs2 a few weeks back;

Found time today for a full wash and add another coat of Black Hole and the QD+, which now has the R36 looking really nice.

So quick and easy to run round the car in an hour or so and gives such a nice deep shine. B)

PS - i'll try and get pics on later.... battery was needing charged - oops

Thanks mate - i'll be stocking up on more QD+ now. So easy to put on and buff off even in direct sunlight!

Never used Poorboys but impressed with your results!

Quality motor that!

  • Author

Well - i know there are many other top quality products on the market which would be worthy of review;

but the Poorboys range is just stunning for lack of effort and speed of application even on a hot sunny day.

Helped me out loads today as SWMBO wanted to go out for Sunday lunch!! :giggle:

Hows things with you 2 , getting on better now?, hadn't you told her about the meal till after Scotland? , and by the way if you see a blue vrs estate in Baildon it is Johns, the neighbour across from me, he has parted with his Mk 2 superb and got that. Dsg diesel( many motorway miles) and I detailed that as well!

Nice pics by the way

Ordered another Karcher hose from Toolbank, 7.5 metre with new gun £7 pounds cheaper than without one, go figure ;)

Cheers Alan - i think i spotted John on Friday..... 58 plate? Very nice and shiny when i spotted it!

Glad you got the hose sorted - i was sure i had one; but after losts of searching in the black hole that

is the garage..... it appears not!

Cheers for comments on the pics. Just building up on the good start you made with the P1 mate.

Although - watch this space - i may book a full paint correction for the end of the month.

Looking really good. Alloys look great, are they STD on the R?

Yes - Standard Omanyt 18" alloys for R36; but an option for 19"

Full size 18" spare supplied too - to fit over the front brake calipers!

You have put my pic taking skills to shame,

Stunning pix. It is amazing car to drive too lol :giggle: :giggle: :p :p

Cheers Kenlad! I got lucky..... took those pics in a rush; then 10 mins later it was raining!

Still - it was nice to see the beading effect too!

Gorgeous car to drive - effortless speed!

I am going to go against the grain here and say I am not a Poorboys fan but we all do and like our own things so that's cool, used PB Black Hole yesterday and it's OK......... :|

As for the finish and the car in general, looks really good mate, I mean really nice, you must be happy with it?

Oh dear - there is always one! :p Typical that it would be you Simon!!! :giggle:

To be honest Simon - the pictures hide a lot of issues on the car.

The Poorboys hides it well and the deep wet shine came up well on the pics.

For a quick detail - i dont think i can look past Poorboys - so easy on and off.

Deep down - the swirls and polishing marks from the previous owner are quite bad;

especially in bright sunlight. I'm asking around for quotes on a full paint correction

now - but i dont think i can afford that AND the fuel bill to get to you matie!!!

Talking with Martin at UberCool Detailing in Harrogate....

I must admit i was not really sure about PB Black Hole but think its really easy to use and way easier than the likes of AG SRP, and is perfect as a first pass before using a wax or sealer. I think if you were only going to use one product i would not use it, i'd use SRP for example (despite all the dust!)

Not that i know anything, my car is in a right state at the moment! :'(

Sorry Ste, I think PB BH is a great alternative to SRP and does the job it needs to do so don't worry about my opinon, like I said it looks great......

Am yet to see anything from Martin on DW but then I may have missed it, I am sure he will do a top job though......

Yeah - i know what you mean Kenlad; i think AG-SRP works well on most cars.

The long lasting finish you got from that and the Collonite 476S was immense.

I have some new Gtechniq P1 to try on your car when you are down; Bluvrs2

gave it a blast on the R36 and i was very impressed with it and easy to use

with minimal powdering too.

Looking forward to a good test of the products on the Vectra.

We need to discuss an action plan really.... B)

No worries Simon - i was only jesting. I was short on time and thought i'd try the PB route.

Even the neighbours came over and asked what i was polishing with - it really transformed the

depth of shine.

Well - out of 6 companies i emailed from the DW list; Martin was the only one even to reply!!!

Seems like he is looking to increase his profile and has offered a discount to use the R36

detail and pictures to give a good testimonial on his website and DW.

So fingers crossed he does the business....

Well I look forward to seeing the results once it's done, I am sure the depth and finish will be even crisper, that's for sure, great motor......

Thanks for your comments Simon - always appreciated.

The car is awesome and i ended up buying this one purely on being the right spec.

A few bad stonechips and obviously the lackluster body work were the downsides.

Bluvrs2 gave a me a great help the first weekend i detailed it..... polished out

some minor scratches and also polished up the rear light clusters which were shocking.

But there is much more to do.... B)

Good to hear of fellow member's helping each other out and also that Alan has kept his enthusiasm for detailing since we met a long time ago sorting out his Octy.....
