Dead lock doors

Featured Replies

Just wondering is it possible to make the door handles on the MkII RS require two pulls to open the doors(like the MkI vRS). At the moment, even though I have auto lock enabled, it only requires one pull to open the door. I find this a bit dangerous as they can be opened while on the move and given how light the door handles are, it's very easy for children to open them....so is it possible to make them require two pulls? I will try using VCDS tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone else had already done it?

Would the child locks and/or a bit of education on the dangers of opening the door not be a better idea?

I initially had it like that on my Octavia but changed it via maxidot to what you have now.

Child locks on in the back would be the best idea as said.

Education on a two year old doesn't really work :) I suppose at least people aren't trying to rip off the handles anymore, I just think it's a bad design.

Child locks all the way, whats to stop a two year old pulling the handle twice?

Having had a small child open the door while the car was in motion on a crappy old Astra with child locks that had slipped off over time I'd say get yours turned on now and check them regularly to make sure they stay on. I was lucky that the door shut itself against the wind and I was able to stop immediately, but it was still utterly terrifying.

Indeed just stick the child locks on. It's good that the door handles only have to be pulled once, used to have to do it twice on my old MK5 Golf and it did my head in, nice that it unlocks all doors at once too.

These are both adaptations that can be changed
