Engine Bay Colour Coding

Featured Replies

What other little bits can I paint in my engine bay? My mate is selling his red Fabia so I had his cover and oil cap as the match my strut. What else could I paint?

While I'm going to leave the black plastics alone, I'm quite tempted to colour-code my slam panel like in the above photo.

Can replace the majority of your pipes aswell, with red being a fairly common colour there will be lots of companies able to supply.

@Korban - Thanks for the mention mate

Very good point Ant, did go a bit mad with the spray can, had a lot left over from spraying my side skirts, but I do have the original engine cover and air box, the battery cover is just stuck on with Velcro and I would most probably remove the strut brace before I sold it as well. The front panel could also be painted back to black so no biggie

Less is more in this case. (ignor the max power cone filter, i run it when cleaning my panel filter)

  • 6 months later...

I primed, painted and lacquered the oil cap, dipstick holder, coolant reservoir cap a couple of months ago (our of sheer boredom)....but the paint layer started to bubble up and crack. Any particular paint I should be using? The same heat resistant stuff used on brake calipers?
