EPC/Emission fault?

Last week the engine light came on in my Superb but there was nothing noticeable in the way it performed. When I turn on the ignition part way both the EPC and Engine Management lights come on and stay on but once the engine was running only the engine management light stayed on.

I used VAGCOM to clear the fault and the engine management light is no longer on while driving (have done 100 miles since then) but the EPC light/Engine light stay on when you first turn on the ignition so obviously the fault is still there. VAGCOM says this:

I've read up on this fault and the possible problems with the secondary air pump but more concerning is that in VAGCOM when I run the readiness checks on the engine it says that the Secondary air pump, O2 sensor and catalytic converter cannot be found. This would presumably explain the EPC light being on but what is the root cause likely to be?
