Hi All, Names Mike. Been a Skoda owner for 4 yrs now. Got an 07 Octavia VRS 170. Love the car but alas I have now changed my job from working in Bristol (100 Miles a day) to working in Cardiff (26 Miles a day through lanes) So I am now forced to trade my car as I have the dreaded DPF issues all the time. So I am sticking with Skoda as they do breed happy drivers and buying a brand new Roomster Scout 1.6tdi (Rarther fitting as I am a Scout Leader). But I am neally having a heart attack here seeing the price of fitting a tow bar. I only want to tow a trailer for the Scouts tents. I only volenteer my services I dont get paid for what I do I cant justify £700 to the misses. I have to clothe and feed my kids first let alone any one elses.

Any way enough of the rant  you guys are great. been frequenting this site for a few years now but never stopped in to say hello.

Welcome to Briskoda, you say you got to get rid of VRS cos of DPF issues driving country lanes yet you are gonna buy a 1600 TDi instead, surely this has a DPF as well so you are probably going to have similair problems.

Hi BillyT1903, they have changed the regen on the new ones so that they regen at a lower RPM and lower speed 800RPM at 23MPH, where as on my VRS it was 2000RPM at 40MPH. So hoping it should be ok. Was told by Skoda that should not have a problem with it. If it becomes an issue I will be leaving it on the dealers forecourt while we go to court
