Elegance CD player in the boot

Featured Replies

Hey people :)

Thi is my first post.

I've bought my self an Octavia Estate. It's an '08 plate.

Does any one know how to turn the cd changer in the boot on at all? I'm kind of a little stumped on it!! :/

Also I've recently had a tow bar fitted - the reverseing sensors dont seem to work - any ideas on geting them working at all??

The CD changer will only work if the original head unit is still there. What radio is installed (should have it's name on there).

You simply insert the CD's and away you go. If you cant do this, this suggests the head unit isnt a Skoda one.

Who installed your tow bar, and who's tow bar was it?

It's a stream mp3 radio. As far as I know it's the orignal one on the car. I cant see any names on the changer!

The tow bar was fitted by an inderpendent tow bar specilest (wer'nt going to pay dealer prices!!) the tow bar is brand new. The reversing sensors were working when i backed out of the fitting bay but when I reversed into the drive they wernt working! :/

Sounds like the towbar guys messed up. Mine is programmed so that the reversing sensors work unless there is something plugged into the tow electrics and which time they are disabled until I unplug the trailer.

The autochanger should just work. Press the load button and when the circle flashes feed it a disk - repeat this to load it up with 80s pop...

There's no power switch on the changer, iirc it's permanently active so as gadgetman says you should just be able to push discs in.

Iirc you press the bay number on the front and then offer a disc up.

If you mean how do you access the discs to play from the headunit, just press the CD btn twice.

Cheers Chris. Ive dicovered how to select the cd changer but i cant pop any cd's into the changer it's self! :/

Press load and the next number should flash iirc, then just chuck a CD in

If you press load on the changer and it doesnt light up , you have no power

Check it's connected at the changer and head unit end.

Likely the prev owner had a different stereo fitted and simply forgot to reconnect it to the rear of the head unit.

The stereo is fairly easy to remove too, see here
