I thought I had a speaker problem. Lots of crackling through the tweeters, but now the MDI has died.

MDI button has disappeared from the media screen on the Columbus.

The crackling however has now stopped.

Booked into the dealer tomorrow.

Three hours at the dealer.

It's your cable. We've checked your iPod with our lead and it works.

Do you want to buy a new cable? I guess I'll have to.

That's £28 including VAT.

Out to car. Try new cable. Still does not work.

Back into dealer. Which cable did you test my iPod with?

This. An AUX lead. Doh!

Right I'll have the money back for the cable.

MDI is goosed, just like I told them from the start.

We'll have to order a new MDI.

Have you got the MDI sorted? My phone was the problem, not bt module. Had to have the phone relished by my mobile operator and now working fine with bt. Works phone is fine and gives full rsap connectivity despite being an ancient Nokia!

MDI replaced. Seven hours wait!

This Leeds dealer is ok at the ordering stage but sadly service goes downhill after they have sold you the car.

They said my MDI firmware was up to date. I just have no confidence in what they tell customers.

I'm not surprised, they seem keen enough to tell everyone how good they are but very rarely live up to it imo.
