Net behind rear seat

Featured Replies

I don't know about anyone else, but I've not used this net since I bought the car. It also gets in the way when carrying larger bulky loads with the seats down.

I also have the spare wheeel on my Yeti which means you don't get the plastic thingy to make a container to stop things rolling round the boot. It also means that the hooks for shopping bags at the top of the boot don't work and that the bags slide about in the boot and empty their contents.

What I've done now is to use the attachments points for the small side net and attach the behind the seat net to these (make sense?) This provides a handy restraint for a full and heavy shopping bag. Tried round some sharp corners and nothing has fallen out or broken so far.

The 'false' boot floor sides can be lifted up so you can hang bags properly, but not if you have anything in the boxes underneath emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I fix my net just in front of the rear hatch as the rear fixings are half way across the boot, leaving a large gap between the seats and the net. if I don't want to use it I just unhook at the top. and either put it under my rubber mat or leave it loose on top of the rubber mat.

If I understand what you are saying is that you 'wrap' the net around the shopping bag, being fixed at the bottom to the appropriate fixing points, front & back of the boot, and to the top on one side of the car only. Rather like the curved plastic restraint that you mentioned.

I also have the raised boot but do use the net behind the back seats. If I need to drop the seats to carry something (mtb for example) I just unhook the two top loops of the net and let it lie flat before putting down the rubber sheet I use underneath the bike.

Most of the time the only thing in the net is a brolly, I tend to use the smaller side on for bits n pieces as its closer to hand when at the back of the car.

Have to say, the Yeti's the mutts nuts - lovely to drive, stands out in a crowd, has some nice little bells n whistles and its a joy to step into each morning. Not quite as quick as my SV1000S but good fun to drive all the same!

+1

It is very easy to unhook and when I tip the seats I just unhook it and put the rubber mat over (if need be). Also the spot between the net and the seatbacks is perfect to hold bigger items in place.

AndyC I trust you are hooking the nets to the indents in the horizontal bar and not to the curry hooks?
