Current Lead Times on the vRS

Featured Replies

Was thinking of changing cars (again!) when my current car reaches 18 months old in March 2012.

Had been looking at a Yeti 170, which I would have had to order pretty much now to be here in March.

However have decided I don't love the Yeti enough and want yet another vRS.

What is the current lead time on them? My current one took 4 months to arrive but I fear things have slipped since then.

I have a feeling it is about the same as the Yeti as in about 7-9 months.

WHy not just keep the one you have got? Seems daft changing after 18months for a car that is the same!

My mate ordered his the last day of February and collects it tomorrow, so about 13 - 14 weeks.

That is a consideration ... when I went from the first Octy vRS to the second one I went from a PD to a CR, so a significant change, when I went from the second one to the current one I got the facelifted model, so again a significant change, this time would being no significant change.

The sole reason I have changed at 18 months the last twice is due to relatively high mileage, 30000 miles in 18 months. However there is a good chance I will be moving back to being a classroom teacher after several years being a peripatetic teacher, teaching across all the secondary schools in our region. If that happens my mileage will reduce drastically. I will know whats happening by the time we break up for the summer three weeks today so won't make any hard and fast decisions till then.

Manual Octavie VRS - Ordered 3rd March - Arrived at Dealer yesterday - Collecting next Saturday :)

If you want to add options to the standard config vRS then the lead time is 8-9 months, i was VERY lucky that a dealer in Oxford had one in stock, vRS CR TDI Hatch in white albeit with the only option being a spare wheel with delivery 9 days from order placement.

My only advice is to shop around "country wide" you may get lucky.

Also when is the Octavia III released, mid 2012 ???? if so you should wait for that.

Octavia III wont be released for a while yet, let alone mid 2012!

Ordered mine mid march due into dealer the middle of next week 14/15 week wait for the car

Ordered mine last November it was delivered in May, with options etc I waited 26 weeks.
