Leaking around door seals?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

My skoda fabia 2002 is leaking around the door seals and wondering if anyone knew how much to replace all 4 doors? its not really bad but needs doing

Thanks for your time

Matt

Are you sure it's the door seals? It is very common for the Fabia to leak around the door carrier (the metal plate), especially rear doors. Before replacing doors I would have a read of this thread and have a go at resealing them.

In that thread you'll find an outline of the procedure for fixing rear doors in this link.

Its an easy job, takes 20min max.

I did it on a VRS to this procedure.

Start with the rear tweeter, push it rearward and pry from the forward facing edge, take your time and use a plastic spatular or a wide flat thin object to prevent damage. Remove the torx headed fixing.

Now its time for the arm rest, start with the front section, using your prying tool pry the inboard face of the top cap upward against the lower half of the arm rest. It should pop off, if it doesnt just lift it enough to allow the rear top section to slide forward in car line and lift up.

Remove the 2 screws.

Now for the fun bit, removing the casing. Pry the casing begining at the bottom, it will be tight as its held in with plastic anchor clips. I think there are 7 in all. Work your way around the casing untill its free from the door inner.

Personaly I didnt remove the casing completely I just wedged it open so I could gain access.

Remove any loose sealant and prep for sealing.

Hope that helps.

this will help alot did when i did mine anyway

great vid, found water in myn today so gonna have to do this soon
