You could go for stronger brakes for better braking just for the sake of it, but I don't see the dependence on more power. Will you be going faster, or just getting to the same (legal) speed more quickly and more often? Will this in itself cause braking to be harder, or just more frequent? The answer to these questions would determine if you need stronger brakes or better wearing brakes.

I've got these...

But now I think i'd get some of these :D

Are those second ones the ceramic disks? Apparently their the dogs b*ll*x, but well expensive :(

Nope, just ordinary discs because my money tree is still a little sapling in the back yard at the moment :(

Yo Pete, you could have cleaned the wheels first m8.

If its a 4x4... cheapest upgrade would be to 312mm discs... all that would be needed for your car is discs, pads and caliper carriers.

black diamond discs and ds2500 are suitable for 99% briskodians... :)

sounds good neo, any idea how much your looking at for some half decent 4 pots? will go and check round jabba/amd etc for prices. i want better brakes now anyway as i get fade every now and then and with more power i can see in all honesty my driving becoming more aggressive against the car at times, not always but certainly at times so yes, better brakes will be needed. how many people have done the 312mm upgrade and what sort of price are you looking at for the discs/pads/carriers?

so the actual calipers are fine but the carriers need changing to accomodate the bigger discs?

You can fit the 328mm conversion under the standard wheels, you need 10mm spacers though.

This is the GT Junior kit on mine:
