Lowering Springs

Featured Replies

Waste of money mate. OEM or if you must change it, coilovers FTW

As I can't go for coils I gave a call to Damien at DPM (trader on her) so some advise, ended up going for 20mm as the VRs is already 15mm lowe than a normal Fabia

didn't really want to go for coilovers due to cost really :/

Sorry Gaunty I went for shocks and springs lowered by 20mm, but if money is the only issue you might want to save up for a bit longer and go for coils

AP will be good, had them on my old car, the coilovers will give you an adjustable height that's all. So if one day you fancy it lower/higher you can chnage it. If you aren't bothered get a good shock/spring set.

If your lowing for looks, dont waste your money on springs, pointless. The fabia is too high, to get a decent drop as mr moggy said, you need coilovers. I dont understand why people "cant" have coilovers, apart from needing to save a bit of extra cash.

in my case is because the car will never be lowered that much to justify coilovers, got springs and shock to stiffen up the ride

Fair enough, all the shocks & springs I see are as expensive as coilovers, if that were the case then it`d be a no brainer imo

I'm only lowering the car for looks and improve the handling a little...i don't really want a bumper scraping drop, just enough to reduce the existing arch gap? would it be better going for eibach springs with a 20-25mm drop?

Fair point, mine were only slightly cheaper than AP coils but at least I know that I'm running a good quality product

I`d get coilovers then, springs will not make much difference at all, still arch gay ahoy tbh

I`d say the AP`s are prob the most popular coilovers on here tbh so they are budget but decent kit from all the reviews.

I've just fitted Eibach springs (25mm drop) yesterday (Saturday) and the drop is not that much so far, maybe they will settle a bit more???

Car does sit a lot better though and the drive is much better, well happy with that bit.

My car is used a lot and used hard due to family and crazy miles so I'm happy with the Eibach set up.

Don't think I could handle a big drop anyway, to jittery to me, I likes a bit of comfort.
