Door sill covers - rubbish!

Featured Replies

Anyone else had issues with protective door sill covers coming unstuck?

Seems they're held on by a cheap foam strip with 'sticky pad' type adhesion; which doesn't remain sticky!

Short of applying 'no more nails', any solutions out there, or should I just go back to the dealer?

Cheers

The instructions with the covers include removing any wax/degreasing the sills using spirit cleaner before sticking them on. I guess if this isn't done properly then they'll come off. No More Nails do a thick double sided tape - I would clean the sills with detergent and then meths then stick em back on with tape.

Mine have stuck okay (applied them myself) but I'm not crazy about the fixing method either.

I agree the sticky strips don't look as though they will last. Haven't had a problem so far although got them as an Xmas gift and they do state not to put them on if the temp is lower than 21c. Picked a sunny day to fit them and also warmed up the sills with a hairdryer.

Thanks for the tips. Next stop B&Q for the tape...
