help regard to buying a fabia vrs - spotted a problem?

Featured Replies

hi all

i just want some advise on a fabia vrs 2005 i viewed that i want to by for the gf

all appears fantastic on the car, but on the front bumper there are stone chips that have taken the black paint off, and now shows red!!

does this indicate bumper replacement ( once was a red bumper ) or is the red a base colour?

any help would be good

cheers

mark

I would suspect a respray, as base primer is white/grey

ok not such a bad thing i suppose, nothing shows up on the hpi check for accidents.

Check both front wishbones are straight and true. Most common problem is sliding sideways into kerbs on snow. Usually does the bumper in on the front bottom corner as well.

wishbones appeared to be ok, i was checking the bushes and couldnt see nothing bad

my gripe is if it was small damage original bumper would be repaired, this looks like a 2nd hand red bumper thats been sprayed black.

Being plastic they tend to split if damaged, so most people just replace the bumper.
