Greetings brother and sister superb owners :)

After 18 months in a Toyota, 12 months in a Prius and 6 months in an Avensis I am coming back to Skoda (having owned a Fabia vRS, Octavia vRS, Octavia Elegance DSG, vRoomster and Mk1 Superb L&K)

I have bagged a Brilliant Silver 1.8 TSI Superb SE Plus from stock, it has all the features I wanted and more so no need for a factory build so I should be driving it within a couple of weeks. The 15% off deal on petrol Superb's and some negotiation with the dealer provided me with a very attractive offer to get me out of the Avensis, which has been supremely unreliable. My mileage has dropped from 25 - 30k per year to 10 - 12k per year and the discount on the petrols made real sense. I nearly went for a Yeti, but the Yeti forum is full of lunatics, and there is just no movement on price with Yeti's where I got an excellent deal on a well equipped Superb.

Only thing needed now ...... is a remap :) and I suppose I best reinstate my Freedom Membership whilst I am at it.

Welcome back!

Yes welcome back.

You seem to have had more cars than me,and you think we're lunatics.....:giggle:

Welcome back, you know it makes sense. :giggle:

PM incoming.

Indeed welcome back.

I'm interested in the deal you got. Looking around for my dad ATM and this is another option I think he needs to consider.

(just off to check what the SE Plus spec is)

P.S. Speak to Ben (shark) about the reamp B)

Ahhh crap not you again ..................

Thought we had rid the last 5 times you changed

SE Plus add's Amundsen with Hard Drive, Electric seat adjustment for Driver and Passenger, 4 spoke multi function wheel, GSMII Telephone prep, MDI, Sunset Glass, mats and nets. I got the 15% discount from the pay 5% VAT deal, a loyalty discount from the dealer and a low finance rate, but that's not for public viewing :)

Welcome back!

I never left Ben, just continued to post my usual drivel in the OT section :)

Welcome back, nice to see another XJR owner on here, are you on the owners club forum for the bike as well?

Don't let the Yeti owners see that! .... some of them have no sense of humour.:giggle:

Right ! Put it on the Octavia forum !!:rofl:

I am on XJROC with the same username mate.

My user name is symmo on the XJR owners club site, couldn't use it on here as some one had already used it

Thanks

Looking forward to a trip to the dealer to see what deals can be arranged, even though my local dealer dont really do deals (never have done so far). At least its a good base point to work from.

Welcome back Tony.

I still think you should have gone for a Yeti. Some of the threads would have been really entertaining then

Welcome back (ish) Tony :hi:

Glad to see to back in a Skoda Tony

You seem quite normal mate :) you shall be looked upon with respect and honour throughout Briskoda :)

It's just my little joke, based on the amount of OT drivel that used to get posted in the Yeti section, I remember one about feeding it sandwiches or something.

I don't need a 4x4 or the high up driving position of a Yeti, but I do like the look and style of them and I am a serial "modder" so if I could have gotten a respectable deal on a 1.8TSi I would have bought it and had a lot of fun, but in the cold light of day, a Yeti 1.8TSi was going to be worse equipped than the Superb SE plus, and cost me around £4k more, so to me it was a no brainer.

The Superb won't stay standard for long, already got a bit of Sharking planned, then will be looking for suspension (Funds permitting) and other tweaks.

  Ta. But as to the Yeti forum: well we wear our weirdness with pride! :giggle: It is interesting though how different each car's forums are on here in character. The Octavia ones are mostly always short and some questions never even get answered/replied to. And once they are answered the topic stops. The Yeti ones go on and on and do go OT a bit, but then that is exactly how any normal face to face conversation works. So no, I think the OT banter is just normal!

And as to weirdness, here goes. The weirdest topic yet (to which I posted too! Oops)
