Skoda Warranty's, Advice needed

Featured Replies

My 12 Month Skoda Warranty is due for renewal shortly.

Is the dreaded ABS/ESP sensor covered or is this classed as an eletrica iteml which appears not to be covered.

.

The cost for a 12 month extention including full RAC cover is £389:0or shall I look elsewhere?

Thanks Andy

I had the ABS/ESP fault and had a new ABS unit fitted which was covered by the Approved Used Warranty (dealer estimate for replacement was £1,300)so assuming that's the one you have or similar it should be covered. Give Skoda Customer Care a ring to confirm before you renew.

Also consider that the aircon compressor/condensor is prone to failure on early examples. I have 4 weeks left on my used car warranty and mine has just quit. It is covered under the warranty but I was told the part alone is normally £900 + VAT + a few hours labour!!!!!! I believe the previous owner had the ESP fault fixed under warranty to.

It's a risk of course, like with all 2nd-hand cars.

Would that be the same compressor as this: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/204470-air-condtioning-problem/page__view__findpost__p__2422224

I'm currently spending far too much time agonising over which breakdown cover to go for! AutoAid/RAC/or fork out for full Skoda Assist again...

its ok the compressors only £488+ vat
