Clutch problem?

Hi all,

in the last week I've noticed something unusual when changing gear. Normally it's a nice positive change and you can feel it coming out of gear and into gear.

Now, occasionally when putting into gear it just feels soft and spongy? I can't think of a better way to describe it. No associated noises/vibrations and drives fine otherwise.

It will still be in gear - once or twice it might not have been but that might have been me feeling it and not continuing with the gear change?

Is it the start of something serious?

It's an 06 plate with ~50k on the clock.
