Hello All,

I'm thinking of selling my car but not sure its value.

Here's the Spec...

52 plate Black Octavia vRS 81k on the clock

Auto PS Stage one Remap.

Milltek Turbo Back Exhaust system.

Blue Forge Relocation kit with Black FMCL007P Diverter valve.

TT Front anti Roll Bar and bushes.

Up rated Dog Bone Bush

PiperX Panel filter

Alpine Speakers all round.

Service History

MOT 6 Months, Tax 4 Months

Bad News,

Clutch peddle makes a creaky noise

Passenger and rear drivers side door doesn't always unlock with the rest.

Car has had the cam belt done and the throttle body replaced under warranty 3 years ago.

All work apart from warranty work has been handled by APS.

Apart from that it is typical 9 year old car with the usual stone chips from our British roads that we pay tax for using the fuel that we pay tax on....

Let me know what you think it is worth. Thought I had more pics, turns out there all gone!

Thanks for reading.

In these times, I'd probably say £2k at most to be honest. Increasing fuel costs have fit these cars hard. :(

It's a shame, paid £4500 for my minter a year ago, and now it's probably worth half that. Not planning on selling it though, so not really fussed.

Cheers for fast reply :D

Yeah sucks I know, but to be honest I'm wondering if its worth trading in when I get new car or sell it.

Probably not.

I'd SORN it and keep it safe for a few years. Maybe fuel prices will come down at some point. Or you could turn it into a track car :D

£2.5k? I see mine as worth more to me than a value. I will keep it till something major goes wrong with it.

I'm the same.

Not planning on selling it ever TBH.

Even when it breaks, I'm gonna transplant a VR6 turbo engine into it! Now that would be B)

I paid 2.5k for my 51 plate with 82k a year ago which was good value. Condition was very good and totally standard when bought. The mods you have will not increase value for most buyers and for some will detract, so i'd suggest somewhere between 2k and 2.5k, depending upon whether you find a buyer who decides they really want the car you have. Trying to sell private will 99% of time give you a better value than a trade in and then you can negotiate hard on the screen price of the car you want.

I'm also in this dilemma, although my turbo seals have gone/going, do I sell as is or fix it and punt it off at a loss, do I break it or do I put it in the garage and hybrid it at a late date?!

It'll probably be worth more in parts but I can't be f***** with the hassle tbh.

Cars these days aren't worth anything with all the vat free money off deals on new cars which is a shame. I paid £4750 for mine 4 yrs ago and I'll be lucky if it's worth £1000-£1500.

Are you wanting to get rid for something newer? Or just fancy a change? If you like the car I'd keep hold of it otherwise I'd say it's worth as others have said £2-£2.5k if someones looking for it

Always advertise for a bit more than your asking so you can haggle.

Si, can't you get the turbo rebuilt? Thought you loved the octy? :D

Yeah just looking for something else, either a TT or a Mazda 3/6 MPS.

I did/do but its time for a change, it's been the longest I've ever owned a car (4 yrs), they normally only last 6 months before I'm changing.

The next cars under debate at the moment, swmbo wants an orange focus st and I want an evo (either a 6 or 8). We shall see

Don't get me wrong the vrs has been awesome, super reliable (even if I do rag the c*** out of it), never missed a beat or had any of the common problems everyone seems to get.

I dare say up to yet it's been one of the best cars I've owned (there's been a few). B)

2650 is what I would advitise for it mate. I no as people are saying the prices have droped but look on eBay and auto trader they still seem to be selling for around 2500 so it's worth a shot. I just paid 1500 for an 02 95k silver minter which I thoughts was a bargain.

Glws mate

i'd never sell mine unless the eng popped and then i'd break it.

if i win the lotto or my land sells i'd keep the ocy and give it to martin hadland for a rwd cossie converstion!!!!! 500bhp rwd ftw!!!

What :o

I got £2000 trade-in for my 53 plate 1.8T Elegance in March. It had 78k miles, 9 months MOT, FSH etc... The garage sold it for £2,500.

I think you should expect at least £3k. They're still a desirable, practical but sporty, family car, and the MPG isn't that bad. I suppose tax band might put people off but it's still only £250 a year IIRC

Good luck with it

Thanks guys!

As always this forum has come through with useful help, one thing I will miss about owning a skoda is this forum. I know I haven't been the most talkative person on here but I always find the info I'm looking for.

So I guess I'm saying thanks to everyone for the help!

Jam out!
