Console bush orentation

Featured Replies

Looking for a definitive answer to the correct orientation of the newer style (Octavia)console bushes part number 1K0407183E

I have 1 garage telling me one way & another saying the opposite!

On the older type there was a protruding pip on the bush that lined up with a similar mark on the wishbone, but the new bushes don't have this mark..

Thanks Andy

If you look at the the hex hole in the centre of the bush you will see that it is offset (3mm approx) to one side. This side should be on the inside of the car.....eg the hex hole should be as close to the engine. Also remember that there should be a flat side of the hex hole facing the 12 o'clock and 6o'clock positions. B)

At last I've had the chance to get under the car, could someone clarify that these are correctly fitted please? I'm thinking they may be 90 degrees out.

How do you get the drivers side pivot bolt out? Mine is obstructed by the sump :(

 Loosen the bolts holding the console [16 and 18mm sockets required] and lower the console, you won't need to remove the console completely.
