Correct.

A diesel does not have a Throttle valve (unlike a petrol) so always allows un-restriction into the engine. If you fit a normal Dump valve, it will not do a thing. You can buy electronic operated ones, however all you will get is a noise, no performance advantage at all, I've even read you may get less power!
