can the seat be lifted in any way for better access to wiring ?

If you undo the two 13mm nuts in the centre of the seat at the front edge, you should then be able to push the seat back an inch out of the bracket, this will let you lift the front of the seat up giving you more room.

You need either a dealer or someone local to you with VCDS to check for the fault codes.

A list of the Briskoda members who have VCDS can be found here.

BTW do NOT unplug the yellow plug under the seat as this is for the seat airbags, if you do and the ignition is turned on then you WILL need VCDS to turn the airbag light back off again. :thumbup:
