drivers seat wont adjust at all is stuck i looked underneath but no obvious probs ie plugs disconnected etc also checked fuses any suggestions welcome, also can the seat be lifted in any way for better access to wiring ?

Have you scanned the car for codes? Fault could be in the comfort controller(s) and a code might let you start looking in the right place.

can the seat be lifted in any way for better access to wiring ?

If you undo the two 13mm nuts in the centre of the seat at the front edge, you should then be able to push the seat back an inch out of the bracket, this will let you lift the front of the seat up giving you more room.

Try unplugging the plugs onto the switches and also on the control unit under the seat and then refitting, i have done this before and it reset the seat.

Thanks all will try suggestions not sure how to check for codes though

You need either a dealer or someone local to you with VCDS to check for the fault codes.

A list of the Briskoda members who have VCDS can be found here.

BTW do NOT unplug the yellow plug under the seat as this is for the seat airbags, if you do and the ignition is turned on then you WILL need VCDS to turn the airbag light back off again.
