Dog Bone Engine Mount

Featured Replies

I want to change the dogbone mount for an uprated poly bush one.

What ones do you guys have, and which are the best, easiest to install, cheapest, and most popular ones people use?

So far I have seen the FR3 one on Awesome GTI, and the ECS Ultimate one. Both similar price, any other options? Which is arguably the better option and why?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You could also consider the pikey dogbone mod as an alternative. Robclubey had one fitted and here is a link to the guidelinky

Ive got superpro bush's in mine, little harsh on idle to start with but they do settle down

Did you just change the bushes or the whole mount?

Just the bushs

I have some power flex bushes if you are interested that are bedded in. I only removed them as i replaced whole subfrmae and arms with TT stuff including the dogbone that had poly bushes in. Ideal as save you the hassle of bedding them in.

PM me if interested.

I got powerflex on the front and back of the dogbone mount and it's very harsh for already 30k. it never really settled to a smooth oem feel. of course power delivery is way better.

I had a look at it the other day (when I thought I smashed the sump on a raised manhole, luckily I didnt lol) it seems like a very easy thing to change, and Ill probably either get that ECS one, or the FR3 mount I reckons.

Personally I would go for the Powerflex bushes - cheaper option and pretty easy to fit too:

Main rear bush for the petrol engine:

OR a few people have been using the diesel engine bush for the petrol engines as it is a little softer:

And the front bush wish is not always needed:
