anyone got spacers on they're standard alloys

Featured Replies

Since lowering car, the standard 16's look to far into the arch!!

Is it worth getting spacers to bring them out a little???

Yes

Depending on standard wheel et

Id take a guess at 15mm all round would look good

Iv got some new 15mm hubcentric ones for sale

I ran 15mm front, and 20mm rear.

I'll try and find some pics.

as well as looking nicer a Wider track is almost always better for handling. so defo worth putting spacers on there

just to be warned though if you look at Manurfacturers standard track width you will notice that almost every car has a narrow rear track normally by 15-50mm this is to aid high speed stability, if you put 15mm on front and 20mm on the back you risk affecting the stability.... it will still make it handle better and it's only a very minor difference but worth noting.

Donthave any decent pics of the rear, but here's how the fronts sat with 15mm.

And the rear (front spacers not fitted in this pic)

That was on KW Springs in that picture, i think they were 30mm springs, i cant remember it was a few years ago.

I changed springs to lower ones after that, but i also changed the wheels to 16" spiders with spacers.

I have pics of how they sat if you'd prefer ?

Good thread. I was thinking of fitting some spacers on my standard alloys since lowering it.

I'd say they'd rub. That's where the stretchy tyres come in to it.

This is 20mm on the rear and 15mm on the front:

I found 20mm slightly too much with 205/40 T1-R's on 17" Spiders. I'm lowered as low as you can go on Weitec GT coilovers with no adjuster cups. I'd say 15-18mm on the rear would sit perfectly.

On the front I rub with 15mm spacers but I need them to clear my Brembo brakes. I'm lowered quite heavily though and now it's worn away the outer plastic arch a bit it only rubs if you go down a big dip in the road at speed.

15mm on the front:
