Coilovers for the vRS

Featured Replies

Sup guys!

Are on a hunt for some coilovers for my ride, anyone off you know if they match up with some other models?

Like the Polo/Ibiza/A1 or something like that?

Kw coilovers are available

I know they have it, weicon aswell.

Trying ty find coils at other brands aswell!

My initial question still stands tho :-).

Coilovers from the MK5 Ibiza/Newest Polo will NOT fit as they use the newest chassis base, the Fabia is using the old MK4 Ibiza base

I kinda figured that out, so going for a coilover-kit from the old vRS would probably work then :-)?

Yes

If you ring up companies that sell coilovers like kw weitec, h&r etc you will probably find they do kits for it.

My weitecs were £550 delivered. Handling is great and i wouldnt advise going any lower without some chassis work and a metal sumpguard lol.

Unless you know 100% that a mk1 kit will fit i would avoid as spring/damper rates will be different.

The problem is the vrs is not as common as an ibiza cupra so parts are very rarely listed but ring up and most places can sort you out.

Apologies for the length of the post

Thank you duffman for that post, clarified some stuff.

I will prolly skip the local dealer since I have to do his work trying to find out the stuff he should :-/.

Been offered 2 prices for the Weitec GT-kit, it looks like I will be going with their kit atleast!

Thread resurrection! emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

I was going with Weitec GT coilovers like Duffman has but after talking with Rob at Shark, he recommended it might be best to go for KW Coilovers. Reason for this I plan to do a few trackdays a year.

Did you get the Weitec GT's Confide?

At the moment, it's either the Weitec's or the KW Inox V1 setup. FK Coilovers are an option but don't seem very good quality or have a good review emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Ive a set of KW variant 2 Inox's on order as we speak, along with a Whiteline rear ARB.

I've decided about which turbo I want atleast!

And I'm pretty sure I want the K&W ;)

Do you do track days? I went for V1 simply because I don't want the hassle of adjusting the rebounding. Quite happy with just a general setting.

KW's seem to be the way to go. The MK1 guy's seem to have gone with them as well. £800 though emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif Christmas gift maybe!

I won't be doing track days but I have an idea I may want a tinker with the rear settings a bit.

i got the KW var1 Inox and iam very pleased with it (had var2 on my f1 GT) but the handling doesnt even come close to my old fabia 1 GT even with the same suspension setting . I might for for a rear arb aswell but those are not street legal here in germany .

i know the new polo comes with adjustable wheel arches not sure if the F2 comes with it also .

btw whats up with vagoc ?

Yeh noticed Vagoc was down. How much did you lower yours? From what I can gather, the rear arb seems to make more difference than the suspension. Probably due to the fact the vRS does not have an arb at all! emoticon-0124-worried.gif

just lowered it by 15mm more then the standart setting , its around 60front 55 rear on 18 inch .

pics in the fabia picture threat or on youtube you can see how the suspension works .

gona check out this adjustable mudguard thingy there , its all over the polo forums here and is good for around 1-2cm more space for the wheels ...

When you say mudgaurd do you mean the wheel arch liner?

yep those .

VW might did it like this to adjust factory made differences

those are from a friend of mine who did it on his Polo , he wasnt sure if the Fabia also got this feature

he also got the same wheel size as i do (8x18 ET32) but still got massive space left over for Suspension adjustments

Hi i had the kws v1s on my 6r polo the only difference ive noticed between my weitecs and those is that the weitecs go lower and are a fair bit stiffer. However if you have the money go kw every time so comfortable.

Also i probably wouldnt get v2s as adjusting the rebound isnt much use if your properly setting up a car

save up the extra and go for v3 kit it makes the world of difference
