Replacement Symphony buttons / New head unit questions...

Featured Replies

So, the number 4 button on my Symphony headunit has broke. Managed to fix it before, but I think its damaged beyond repair now. I have phoned round a few places on the net and can't find anyone who sells replacement buttons; only the whole unit :-(

Do any of you guys know where I could get one?

I'd prefer to just get a replacement button (it is cheaper!), but I am kind of tempted to get an aftermarket unit. What other things to I need to get along with it?

- Facia Adapter, I assume - Halfords job or go to Skoda?

- Signal booster? - is this needed? How much am I looking at? again, Halfords or Skoda?

Could some of you post pics of your aftermarket headunit? Want to gauge which one looks the best/matches the interior...

Cheers.

Facia adapter is best to get from the dealer. It's about £3 and matches perfectly. Many of the aftermarket ones don't match the rest of the dash.

The signal booster is also required if you like radio reception as it's built into the symphony unit and not many aftermarket units. They're about £5 or so from ebay and the likes.

If your new unit doesn't have bullet connectors to swap the ignition and permanent live over, you'll also need an adapter for that, otherwise your unit won't keep your settings when you switch off ignition. Again ebay for about £4.

Halfords do sell all the above, but it'll cost you 4x the price.

Also this thread has some pics of my cheapo £50 LIDL special

Yup avoid halfords facia adaptors! Cost £10 and fit is shocking, also wrong colour

Proper part is about £3 from skoda and clips into place and looks oem
