Anti roll bar bushes question, yes another one

Ok, I know there are lots of posts about this but couldn't find the answers via search so a couple of further questions....

Most folks describe this as a dull hollow knocking, my car is sounding more like something is loose and knocking against the firewall/body work, does it get this bad? (imagine the sort of noise a large screwdriver rolling around inside a panel would make)

Haven't got time at the mo to fix myself but are there any checks I can do to see if this is the most likely cause? Do have time to jack the car up and have a quick poke around

Unless I make some major changes to my schedule prob wouldn't be able to have car worked on for another 1000 miles or so.... or could this be doing further damage?
