French car fan - now a changed man!

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

Been monitoring the forum on and off for a couple of years now. Nice little forum you have here :-)

As the title suggests, I've been a bit of a French car nut job for the last 10 years - mainly mk1 Clio's. Just got rid of my toy due to ridiculous running costs - stripped out 180bhp 2.0 16v mk1 Clio 16v. Shame really - sign of the times. So went out and bought a 125cc motorbike to commute on. I've had the occasional use of my Father's vRS for the last 2 years, and he's just upgraded to a Focus Zetec S TDCi, so I've just bought the Fabia off him for a decent price :-)

Lovely little car I must say. It's a 06 plate with 62k on now, in Corrida red with the rare full leather. I suggested the car to my Dad when he was looking for a new car, as these cars are a bit of a petrolhead well kept secret to be fair! We saw the one with the leather in, and it swung it for us at the time.

Unfortunately, I'm now having to part with my beloved 10 year old Pug 306 HDi dTurbo - quite a rare 3 door model with GTi-6 suspension and cyclones as standard, and one of the first modern common rail diesel engines.

The Fabia is lovely and standard for the time being. Near future plans include some 17" vRS Spider's finished in black or anthracite, a full Miltek, PD160 intake, and a remap to suit. Looking forward to having a pretty quick motor which is still very cheap to run, tax and insure :-)

Seen some nice examples on here so far I must admit.

Oh and I'm a 28 year old engineer from North East Wales - that'll do for the introductions!

Cheers,

Al :-)
