Greenline estate spare wheel

Featured Replies

I am about to place an order foe a Superb Greenline estate elegance. I really require a spare wheel instead of the aerosol can. Can this be easily fitted and what parts are involved? A spacesaver would be nice but I don't know if they do one? This will be the first modern Skoda I have bought the last being over 30 yrs ago. And this is the only issue holding me back.

It fits in the spare wheel well under the boot floor.

It's a complete kit including the foam insert, spare, jack and wheelbrace.

Even though the vehicle doesn't come with a spare, the space for it is built into the car as it's the same body shell for all varients.

The dealer will be able to confirm this when you order.

The Greenline cannot be ordered from the factory with a spare wheel, the only option is to order the wheel, jack and tool kit as a dealer supplied accessories, it is much dearer this way though.

I enquired at my local dealer, Startin Skoda of Worcester, who indicated that a 205/55/16 tyre on a 7J x 16 steel wheel, jack, brace and polystyrene boot well moulding was in the region of £125.00 (inc VAT), which I thought very fair, considering the cost of a quality branded tyre and 16" wheel bought separately would be about £150.

Or... I have had a quiet chat with the sales guy I bought my Superb from. I didn't think to order a spare wheel kit and so I asked if, when they get their next demonstrator vehicle delivered, and if it has a spare wheel kit, could I do a complete swap and I would pay the "factory" price, leaving the aerosol kit, compressor and foam moulding in the demonstrator. He seemed to think this could be possible. I just need to get round to reminding him :)

Might be worth a try after your car has been delivered.

Thanks for your replies the cost of the kit sounds reasonable, so that will be the way to go. Just didn't fancy being stranded on the side of the road with a shredded tyre and a can of Goo!!

What's the bit to the left of the jack ^^^ (with the black and red knob)?

Did you not get the plastic 'tweezers' to remove the wheel bolt caps?

Westfalia detachable tow bar.... and no tweezers.

No I am buying as a fleet purchase pre registered so I will go down as 2nd owner. But it will be supplied through a main dealer. Car is already in production should have delivery September. Couldn't wait till next year for dealer lead time.

One extremely nice quality car
