Parking light bulb not working

Featured Replies

Hi People

I had a warning come up on my maxi-dot saying that my near side parking light is not working and the bulb warning light came on the dash. I changed the bulb, for a new one but the warning light is still lit and the message is still comming up and also the parking light is not is still not working. Do i need to take it to a dealer or is there a reset method??...

I assume the drivers side parking / side light is working OK?

If so this will rule out a dodgy fuse.

Have you tested the bulb, could there be a chance the new bulb is blown / faulty?

It may be something as simple as a faulty bulb holder or loose wire...

hi

The light is still not working even with a new good bulb. The holder looks in good form with no snagged wires or rust.

Cheers.

Is the drivers side working OK?

If not then it could be the fuse.

If it is and the holder / loom / bulb is looking OK then I would suggest the problem would require a more indepth check from a local auto electrician...

Hi guys,

I know it is old one but did you solve the problem?

I do have a problem with my front parking bulb and I've got a lamp error on my dashboard. It is from the driver side and the turn signal works but not the parking light/ it same bulb/. I've changed the bulb with bulb from left headlight and doesn't work again. The problem came after car wash. I believe it is a fuse. Any one know fuse number?

Btw is MK2. Thanks.

If it was a fuse issue there would be other bulbs not working too, either the opposite side / parking light or the rear tail light on the same side.

If all these are working then it won't be a fuse issue.

Using a multimeter to check to see if there is power getting to the bulb holder would be the first place to start, and a scan using VCDS to see if any related fault codes are listed.
