Boost Gauge Fitting

Featured Replies

Need a little help here i have put the wiring in from the back of the light switch as shown in previous posts on here but where do i get my vacum pipe into the cabin :swear: !! I just cannot see anywhere to go through the bulkhead :wall::wall: HELP Please!!!!

There is a gromet behind the glovebox, you have to move a large bunch of cables out the way to see it. Mabye a better way but would do the trick

Ok thanks for the help dont suppose you know where i connect my T piece into do you for my boost reading?

I believe it intersects where the small pipe comes out of the DV.

The t piece joins onto the pipe off the fuel pressure regulator.

You would be better teeing it somewhere else, other than from the FPR. That pipe needs to be as short as possible to react to inlet manifold pressure changes, and adding 2 or 3 metres of piping to it doesn't help. The ideal solution would be to tap an outlet in the manifold just for the boost gauge, but you could tee into the pipe that runs to the n249 gear etc too.

Thats where is was thinking of putting it.

Into what bit  the n249 whats that??? Not used to these technical terms

Mine runs directly off the inlet manifold (n249 removed so spare outlet) my vac pipe runs through the grommet for the main wiring harness on the drivers side of the car.

You got any pictures of this SIVRS ? Thats the way i would like to feed it through im all for the easy options  the closer to the gauge the better

Did you cut the grommet to get that through? If i remember mine had a grommet on it there. Going to re route mine soon after getting some more Vaccum hose so no naff clear stuff in the engine bay B)

How did you manage to prise it through there?? bit tight??

I ordered my spare Pillar trim today so can also get onto making my pillar pod soon so prob re-route vac hose at that time!

The tighter the better :giggle:

Just nicked a hole in it with a screw driver and fed the vac hose through, once happy just put a bit of silicone sealer round so no water gets in

sounds like a plan, i drilled the bulk head

Aslong as you fitted a grommet to stop the metal cutting into the vac hose that'll be fine

:o

Only joking, yeah all good. going to re route it once i get pillar pod fabricated haha!

o the joys
