Front?rear washer not working but Headlights do

Featured Replies

Have tried searching but did not find any useful info

My front and rear window washers have just stopped working but the headlight washers still fire every fifth time I pull the washer stalk. The wipers still work fine.

Bottle is full and there is no obvious pool of water under the offside wheel or anywhere inside/outside the car to indicate a disconnected hose. Have checked the fuse which is fine and the pump must be working to wash the headlights - I am assuming there is only 1 pump for all the washers.

As the washer bottle is mounted so low I can not see how to gain access to the bottom of it or the pump.

Any suggestions as to what could be wrong

Hi, im sure there is separate pumps.

I have a MK5 Golf TDI! i've put the whole GTI spec on the car, with a different water expansion bottle for the sports pack, (washer jets for headlights).

I know these Golfs have separate pumps for the headlight washer jets, to the front and rear washer pump!

ME personally, I think its either your pump, or the water lines that the water flows to the front windscreen or rear screen

hope this help you!
